Once again, I was out on a municipal pier, coffee and banana in hand for sunrise. You never know what to expect. Some days you get the full on light show. Some days the horizon gets a little orange tint. On very rare mornings, you get a sunrise like today's. It's not the multiple, changing colors. It's not the light dancing off the clouds. It's the light itself.
As expected, the bands of light eventually faded as the sun approached the horizon, eventually
rising right over the paper manufacturing plant.
The only thing on tap for the day was a return visit to Cumberland Island. I've done this twice before, so I'll pass on the backstory. I was just looking for a nice day to walk around the island. It was a bit chilly and quite windy. I kinda felt bad for the folks heading over to camp. It would make for a cold night. BTW, there is one hotel on the island, The Greyfield Inn. Nice enough place
but a little out of my price range.
From my day on Cumberland Island...
This buoy washed ashore during Hurricane Dorian earlier this year.
The sun set on the ferry ride back to St. Mary's. It didn't have that certain something of the previous night, but no complaints.
