Day 7
Thursday, January 22, 2022
While the rain had moved out, the weather guessers were calling for some sun by mid morning. That never actually happened. The sun never even came out. The leaden sky just got a little less gray. So, no sunrise.
However, I've said it before and it still holds true, even a gray day at the beach is still a day at the beach. At times, I had it all to myself.
Even the waves seemed gray...
Seen along my walk...
I also passed this guy setting up for a beach wedding. I never saw the actual wedding, but saw him packing up his van later in the day. He runs a company named Blessed Beach Weddings.
In hindsight, I should have gone over and talked with this next guy. Birds have a tendency to turn and walk away when I try and shoot them. They didn't seem to mind him at all. I'd love to know how he does it.
Tybee Island is full of quirkie places to eat. One of my favorites is Huc-A-Poos. It's mostly pizza and comfort food, with local beers on tap. Just a word of warning, the pizza slices are BIG, basically the size of two ordinary slices.
Seen on the way back, Santa's chair...island style...
For some reason, this just made me laugh...
From the walk back up the beach...
The weather guessers had moved the sun coming out from 11A, to 3P and then 5P. So, after stopping back in the room to recharge my phone, I did go back out again. If the sun did peek out, I might get a sunset.
There are multiple walkways across the sand dunes. I chose to cut through the pavilion. As I walked up, I heard this amazing voice singing Christmas songs Acapella. The acoustics in the pavilion just filled it with his voice.
From my walk down to the south end of the island, my favorite place for sunsets...
Like I said, no sunset, just shades of gray.
