3P and my last show
wraps. The car was already packed and
ready to go. Even at mid-afternoon, I
was expecting slow traffic heading out of Atlanta on I-85 north. I knew I would hit rush hour in Greenville,
South Carolina as well. With that in
mind, I only drove as far as Hendersonville, North Carolina. It’s only an hour or so after I turned
north-west on I-26 in Greenville. My
only planned stop was the Red Roof Inn, my home for the night.
Followed by road construction in both North
Georgia and just beyond Greenville. I
finally made it to Hendersonville, NC at 7P.
I was just in time for sunset, such as it was.
I knew I didn’t want food, but there’s a
Longhorn Steakhouse directly across from the motel parking lot, the perfect location for a cold one. By now, you know I’ll try anything new on
tap. The only thing they had besides the
national brand was a Blonde Ale by Golden Road Brewery. I’ve tried plenty of blonde ales. They have a certain crispness to their
flavor. This one didn’t. It just tasted flat. It was okay, just nothing special. I decided one was enough.
